Maxi Single: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Chromatics
First, Chromatics are back! The’re are apporaching the launch of new double LP Dear Tommy which will include a few tracks shared previously “In Films”, “Just Like You”, and “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around”. About the album, Johnny Jewel says: “Dear Tommy is the most rebellious record I’ve made.” With this in mind and knowing that it’s still unclear when, exactly, their new album Dear Tommy will arrive, the expectation is becoming exhausting.
Second, Chromatics have recently soundtracked a MANGO adv campaign for their fall/winter 2015 line featuring Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Soundtrack is Cyndi Lauper’ cover “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Chromatics, of course. And tomorrow, november 6th, the maxi-single with the same name will be out via Italians Do It Better, featuring seven variations of Cyndi Lauper’s song. you can stream here below “Girls Just Wanna Have Some“, featuring Ruth Radelet at the Santa Monica Pier, and “Girls Just Wanna Have Dub“, dubber version.
Videos are credited to Alberto Rossini, aka Johnny Jewel (producer), the mastermind behind indipendent label Italians Do It Better, and bands as Chromatics and Glass Candy. in other words, Johnny Jewel is the visionary guide behind such a cool mentioned projects, a successful and massively influential trendsetter without putting his face on top.
